Minutes of the meeting of May 3, 2005

John T. Hazel Auditorium, Arlington Hospital


President Smaldore called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

1. Pledge of Allegiance led by Paul Sveral of Boulevard Manor Civic Association.

2. Approval of Agenda. The agenda was approved.

3. Approval of Minutes. The minutes from April 5th were approved.

4. Treasurer�s Report. Balances: Checking $1,812.15, Savings $1,878.86, Combined $3,741.01, Reserved for 9-11 Scholarship Fund $864.97, Net Available $2,876.04, Separate US Postal Bulk Mail Account $315.84. Dues have been paid by 82 out of 86 member organizations.

Dues not paid by: Arlingtonians for a Better County, Columbia Heights Civic Association, ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia, and Madison Manor Citizens Association.

5. Martha Moore presented a report on the Lot Coverage Forum and a proceeding resolution.

6. 7:55 Tonight�s Program: Richmond Delegation Report

� Elected Officials Present: Senator Whipple, Delegates Brink, Ebben, and Eisenberg. Not present: Senator Ticer and Delegate van Landingham.

7. Committee Reports

  • Housing Committee � Kathryn Scruggs and Joe Wholley presented a resolution on affordable Housing in Arllington. An amended version was approved.
