Proposed Resolution
Airport Noise Study

The Airport Issues Committee of the Arlington County Civic Federation
would like to propose the following resolution:



Response to the FAA re: Part 150 Noise Study
for the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport


Whereas, a Part 150 Noise Study has been conducted for the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport,

Whereas, the Part 150 Noise Study was funded by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG), and was developed with the participation of local governments, local citizen groups (including the ACCF), local business interests, the Air Transport Association (ATA), the Air Pilots Association (APA), MWAA, and MWCOG,

Whereas, the Part 150 Noise Study contains eight noise abatement and six noise mitigation recommendations,

Whereas, the Part 150 Noise Study has been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for review, and the next stage of the FAA review is to list the Part 150 Noise Study in the Federal Register, soliciting comments on the noise abatement and mitigation recommendations during a 180 day open comment period,

Whereas, the Airport Issues Committee has been active in the preparation of the Part 150 Noise Study, and it is the committee's recommendation that the noise abatement and mitigation recommendations within the Part 150 Noise Study be adopted,

BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ARLINGTON COUNTY CIVIC FEDERATION: Recommends that its general membership, citizen's of Arlington County and elected officials, and members of the Airport Issues Committee, commence a letter/e-mail campaign supporting the noise abatement and mitigation recommendations of the Part 150 Noise Study, to be submitted to the FAA during the 180 day open comment period.
