Applications Open for Neighborhood Mini Grant Program

Applications Open for Neighborhood Mini Grant Program

By Nicholas Giacobbe

Arlington County is now accepting applications for the Neighborhood Mini Grant (NMG) program. Applications are due by Monday, June 30, 2025, using this online application form. Increasing to $20,000 from last year’s $10,000, the NMG s a competitive grant program to support projects that build community and engage residents.

The program’s goals are to provide Arlington neighborhoods and community-based organizations with funding opportunities to encourage civic and community building through a variety of activities, programs, events, and projects that promote racial equity, diversity, and inclusion.  For successful ideas from last year’s program, see the final report of 2024 approved projects.

The maximum grant amount is $1,000 per applicant and to be eligible applicants need to be 501(c)(3) or (c)(4) organizations, civic associations, or community groups with tax identification numbers (FEIN #) located in Arlington County.  CivFed will once again be available to help partner members with organizations with 501(c)(3) or (c)(4) status who can serve as fiscal sponsors or co-applicants.

We want to thank the Columbia Pike Partnership for their support of civic associations in this effort. The Pike Partnership is willing to support the Civic Associations in their applications as the nonprofit partner. They have also indicated that they will make a 50% match to any of the 10 Columbia Pike Civic Associations that has a project that they want to undertake, e.g., $500 for every $1,000 invested in the project by the County.

Grants will be awarded by August 1 for completion by June 30, 2026.  For assistance with the application form, contact the Neighborhood Services Division staff at NSDGrants@arlingtonva.us.
